PS3 Real Triggers
Sometimes I wonder what Sony had in mind when they designed the triggers on the SIXAXIS controller. The concave shape of the triggers can cause some slightly frustrating gaming moments. Take Motorstorm for example. Whenever I’m in a heated race my fingers start to slip off of the triggers and can cause me to lose my leading position. I can’t be the only one experiencing this, right? Not to mention that shooters would be a bit more easier to play using triggers similar to the Xbox 360’s controller.
Recently, as I passed through a local magazine shop and stumbled upon the December `07 issue of the UK PlayStation magzine, PSW which happened to be giving away REAL TRIGGERS by Gioteck, for the SIXAXIS/DS3 controller. “Non-Slip Trigger Enhancement for the PS3″, is the catch phrase written on the tiny package. So I decided to put these triggers to the test.
The triggers themselves are shaped as triggers should be and pop onto the existing R2 & L2 buttons with ease. The first game I tested them on was Motorstorm. No slip! I can now drive without worrying about my digits sliding off of my controller.
Of course, I had to put these triggers to the FPS test. I broke out Resistance, Cally of Duty 4 and Killzone. Resistance played naturally great with the triggers, but the default buttons on COD4 and Killzone didn’t use the R2 button as fire. After a little configuration, both games felt just as good as Resistance.
So there you have it. These add-on triggers are highly recommended for those who aren’t too thrilled about the current SIXAXIS trigger design. The most wonderful part is that you can remove them anytime you like for game genres that would be hindered by them.
At the moment, the manufacturer’s site is under construction. So finding these triggers immediately may be a bit of a task. But keep an eye on www.gioteck.com, because once it’s up and the triggers are for sale, these should be a hot seller. I just hope that the price is right.

Can you put some bigger pictures?
I got these in a UK PS3 mag last month, and I can say they are truly useless. Hence, I’ve never had a problem with the Sixaxis triggers.
Never had problems with my fingers slipping from R2. I don’t play with my hands greasy.
R1 is the shooting trigger for PS brand and should stay that way.
These were supposed to be PES 2008 triggers as I know, to do the trick moves more easily…

Never really had that problem. I dont see the need for these ‘extras’ on my trigger button. Mayb this guy is a 3shitty fanboi, saying ’shooters would be a bit more easier to play using triggers similar to the Xbox 360’s controller’ what a load of horeshit!! HAHAHAHA
It would be cool if they made real looking triggers to put on wouldnt it?

Hmm, I wouldn’t mind having a pair (or 2). I don’t experience the “OMG MY F1NGORS SL1PPED!” but, I do find myself wanting a bit more resistance on them.
LOL USELESS…. i have NEVER had a problem wiht my triggers maybe u should stop eating all thoes greesy foods while playing and ur ands wont slip…!

I hate the PS controller for FPS. And the PS3 isn’t much better. Does sony even know what a damn trigger looks like? These look nice in concept, but in reality a cheap gimmick. Sony just needs to make a FPS controller, one with the analog sticks placed differently, and with real triggers. And yes, i’m referring to the xbox controller, so deal with it.
if anyone has some can i buy them please.. i got a pair and i think they are so good but i cant find another pair anywere me and my dad searched all the shops for miles and went on the internet and cant find them.

i just got my ps3 and i cant play burnout paradise any more than 10mins without lobbing my controler as every second my finger slowly moves off the edge of that retarded trigger. u try holding down a rather resistance trigger for 4hours and see what happens.
but im not to sure if these would do any good. if they easily go on they easily come off (unless its a condom)
it seems like sony have made the console well. but are missing the other fancy things (gamerscore (debatable weather good or not) easy friends list. mute.) basicly all the good stuff 360 does. its as if sony dont give a shit no more.
ps3 could easily be the numba 1 console in a years tiem. if sony sorted out the fucking home thing they said were making. and just clear this shit up. its as if they got half way through making it and just stoped. its a good console bril graphics. but thats not good enough. it needs updates which are improving. look at microsoft. they update there snuffbox to the point where its pimped. the only problem with snuffbox is that its not as techniquly advansed as ps3. and it gets hot and randy then blows up.
sony is just rolling around in all there money. its like films. make a good film. LOADS OF MONEY (ps2). then few years later make anouther 1 claming to be 40x better but leave it in its own dust. MORE MONEY!!! f’u sony and i thought u cared! 1year is long enough
