Q: When will you be running a Beta for Killzone 2?
A: Yes there will be a beta, we have been saying that for ever and ever. The dates have not been announced yet though.

Q: Can u tell us now if there will be vehicles in MP?
A: There will not be vehicles in MP on release. So consider that a “yet”

Q: Is KZ2 multiplayer 16v16 online?
A: Yes, from 1vs1 to 16vs16

Q: Is each class going to have a secondary weapon, like knife or hand gun, any silenced guns?
A: One of two hand guns, yes.

Q: Will there be character cutomization within the Multiplayer aspect?
A: The badges and abilities as well as the weapons can be picked to suit your style. Thats as far as the customization will go. Trust me, its plenty.

Q: MEDICS: Reviving, as in dead teammates, right? So how will this look like from the dead player’s point of view? No more instant respawns, I’m guessing. How long does a medic have to revive before the body disappears/respawns?
A: Reviving as in mortally wounded. If the player is back on the spawn-select its too late. The wounded character is in his death cam, animating for help. The wounded player can choose to respawn after a certain time, or someone can come around and put them out of their misery so they don’t have to wait for the spawn-timer, but those times can be customized too

Q: Will players be able to select secondary badges for any primary badge or are they set to the primary badge you select?
A: Yes, you pick a Primary Badge and add one of the secondary abilities from the other badges. But of course you have to unlock them all first.


Q: Is the online MP going to have dedicated servers or will it rely on P2P?

A: There will be dedicated servers. Mountains of them

Q: Aren’t you guys worried about campers who will sit at those spots waiting for the other teams to respawn. And do those respawn areas disappear as soon as the person who made it dies?
A: Spawn-points. We have spawn-cameras on the spawn select screen so you can see what you will be landing in, but some spawn-camping is inevitable.

Q: Is there any possible chance that KZ1 maps will be brought back in some kind of classic map pack later?
A: Classic Killzone 1 maps? Hmm… No comment

Q: Also, just HOW close do you have to get to the saboteur to be able to see through his disguise?
A: About 2 meters or so I guess

Q: Are the saboteurs sticky C4 like proximity mines, like the grenade launcher in the first Killzone or are they press a button and blow up, like in COD4?
A: Sticky proximity

Q: Also, what weapons does the saboteur have?
A: Either a StA14 or a StA11 you can try and find out what that means yourself

Q: Will there be team deathmatch and deathmatch modes?
A: There is TDM, it is called Bodycount with a could of small differences

Q: Oh so is search and destroy exactly like Assault in KZL?
A: Not quite, no. Its quite a different game.

Q: Are the maps linear like Warhawk or more random like CoD4?
A: Mixed

Q: When you create a clan do you start with 50 Valour to get you going?
A: 100 to start with now, but may change depending on feedback from the public beta

Q: When you mix and match classes will the appearance of the character change depending on how you mix them?
A: Not so much, no. Not really required

Q: Will the cover system be in multiplayer?
A: No comment.

Q: The health in multiplayer wont regenerate like in single player, hence the medic?
A: A little. The speed-boost will accelerate the healing too.

Q: In multi will there be different types of each gun class, so when we pick our class we can choose what weapon to use, or do each side have specific weapons?
A: We don’t differentiate between faction weapons in Online. Leaves a bit more variety in the game and helps to balance everything.

Q: In the new multiplayer trailer i saw Helghast with M82, why?
A: See above.

Q: And! Why no vehicles on multiplayer?
A: Just not “yet”.

Q: Is the MIC function push to talk? Or is it open mic? (in multiplayer of course)
A: We are experimenting with voice-activation

Q: I see the KZ1 grenade launcher is returning. Which class will able to spawn with this? How much ammo? Being a KZ1 vet, I feel this weapon can be too powerful if someone is able to just spawn with it so I’m curious as to how it’s being balanced.
A: Assault, not much and don’t worry.

Q: I was wondering since you do have dedicated servers are they worldwide, as in will i be playing people all over the world or will it be regionalized where im only playing people in the US? Also if it is worldwide what are you guys going to do to reduce possible lagging issues?
A: There will be regions too, but we’ll talk more about that come Beta time. There is a lot to test till then, but so far so good.

Q: A Detachable camera you can navigate around the map viewing the replay of your previous online game battle and can also record clips with it. is it in the game as well?
A: No comment at this point

Q: Will there be a shock trooper avatar for multiplayer?
A: You mean skin? Yes

Q: When I asked is there a Hardcore mode. I was asking if there was a hardcore mode for multiplayer, not single player… so.. Can you play with Hardcore settings in Multiplayer? Hardcore is basically 1 hit kill.
A: Well then you have to specifiy that! Sheesh. No comment.

Q: How large are the maps in MP? COD4 Size, Warhawk Size? I know they change depending how many people but still, Whats the Average for 32 and 8( is that the smallest)? 2.
A: There is some variation. All you see in the vids is all the info you get right now

Q: Is there any chance of having customisable online characters? Maybe just simply swapping helmets or armour over the current character models?
A: Nah, plenty of classes to choose from already. If you want to wear a dress, baseball cap or dress up as Snake while playing online you have the wrong game.

Q: Okay, I have one final question after seeing the picture of the stat page. How will the ranking system work? Will you be able to derank?
A: Yes.

Q: Some questions about the saboteurs c4 charges. is it (glowing bright light) visible? does it kill instantly upon trigger? how many do you spawn with?
A: erm, no, Depends how much health you have and if someone is standing in front of you to take the blast, 4 currently.

Q: Will there be an online lobby system similar to KZ1? Because I’m sure a lot of people are looking forward to something like it… I know I am.
A: There is a pre-game lobby.

Q: Can you explain how the cloaking works? Can a player move while cloaked? Is there a timer on how long you are cloaked?
A: You activate the ability and you are cloaked. Only friendly players can see your name above their heads. The cloak flickers in and out depending on how much you move. If you stay completely still you are invisible. If someone aims at you though, their crosshair will turn red.

Q: Are you really going to put the open mic (on MP) function so that anyone nearby you can ear your voice (enemies too)?
And the push to talk option too, to talk with far team members (like using a radio)?

A: We are using voice-activation and exploring proximity channels. So yes.

Q: Are there going to be ladders in Killzone 2 that a player can or will have to ascend or descend upon?
A: The ladders are pretty similar to KZ1. Climb up, slide down. Almost the same.
