Bioshock 2 Review

With MAG being such a ball buster to get on GameFly considering it has been unavailable for over 3 weeks I had decided to rent a different game in the mean time. I got Bioshock2 in on Saturday and had it finished by Sunday. The game is fun, addictive, and has a special feel from any other game. Once I played the game and went through the entire story I had to right this review.
The original Bioshock was a story of a man who’s plane goes down in the Atlantic. While floating amongst the debris he finds a hatch in the middle of the ocean to an underwater utopia (Rapture). Rapture had been a place created be a man that was sick of the way government told its people what they could or couldn’t do. Needless to say under an anarchy policy the under water city of Rapture became corrupted by Genetic alterations and greed. With that said and as great as the reviews for it where i stopped playing through it and sent it back to Gamefly only an hour into the game.

Unlike its predecessor Bioshock2 fixes and adds everything the first game needed to be a next gen level game. Thankfully this game delivers a fully new story where instead of a low level splicer you play as a full on original Big Daddy. The story is based on you fighting through hell to save the little sister that was stolen away from you by the new corrupt ruler of Rapture “Sofia Lamb”.
With game play and a story line improved you also have new enemies such as the newly added Big Sisters. Big Sisters are just as powerful as a Big Daddy but Faster then a splicer. Needless to say with all the new characters added the level of repetitiveness has all but disappeared from the game of Bioshock. Also the game has a newly redone reward system for your actions. Where as helping a little sister in this game will actually help change out comes later on in the game, but hey if your like me ADAM (the genetic currency) is worth more to me then saving the little sisters.
In addition to the single player 2K has also added a new multiplayer feature. While this isn’t the top notch experience I have gotten use to with online play it was another great add-on for the game. All in All this newly redone sequel is a rare improvement in multiplatform game. The story will keep you drawn in and the game play will have you on your toes the entire time. Bioshock 2 and the City of Rapture gets a 9 out of 10.
