Level 5 JRPG: A thing of beauty

I have never really been a fan of role playing games like Final Fantasy, Tales of Vesperia, etc. nor have I ever understood the facination that some gamers have with them…. until today. Today, I have seen a trailer for a game that has intrigued me more than any other game that I has been revealed this year and that game is none other than Level 5′s Ni No Kuni (or Another World) for the PS3. Indeed, the game is being developed by Level 5 in collaboration with Studio Ghibli, creators of anime movies such as Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. A trailer for the PS3 version of the game is available and being discussed about by gamers everywhere with great joy and excitement. Personally, I just fell in love with cell-shaded art direction and the fluidity of the video transitions between real-time and animation cut-scenes which are truly remarkable. The game is said to include move support as well. Enjoy the video!

I got to see the trailer earlier and couldn’t be happier. While not 100%, the art is so damn close to than of the beautiful anime movies that Ghibli is known for. I love L5′s work and really, i can’t wait to see more of this title :) I want it.
