More KZ2 Beta Footage
Can’t get enough Killzone 2 beta footage? Neither can we. Here’s the latest from 1UP.com.
Hello everyone, K1LLsWTch here. Some of you may know me from the various Killzone websites and forums. Well, thanks to Clinton, I have recently just been added to Killzoneunit’s line of posters.
With the release of Killzone 2 just months away, I have decided to write a three part fan-fic that will count down to the Killzone launch, with one part in each month (November, December, January)
Dirge is the story of one man’s struggle for survival in Helghast captivity, and the dark secrets that lie in store for him on Helghan. The events that transpire will ultimately lead him to the tip of Helghast heiarchy, where his fate will be determined.
Part One is already in the works, so be sure to keep an eye out for it later this month.
Can’t get enough Killzone 2 beta footage? Neither can we. Here’s the latest from 1UP.com.

A day late, but we’re still here. This week we discuss the position of the PS3’s marketing effectiveness as well as potential Killzone 2 marketing tactics. We don’t need to sell you anymore on this one, so tune in and enjoy.
It would seem as if the media embargo has been lifted on the Killzone 2 beta, but that doesn’t mean beta testers can go on a leaking rampage just yet. Various videogame media sites had an opportunity to take Killlzone 2 online for some multiplayer mayhem. You can read some impressions over at Eurogamer.net as well as Videogamer.com.
For those looking for fresh beta footage, feast your eyes on the footage below taken from Gametrailers.com. We’re a bit baffled as to why they didn’t allow someone else who knew to aim away from their teammates to film these videos. Anyhow, enjoy.
UPDATE: Here’s another preview for those of you who can read German, from Cynamite.de. It’s also come to my attention that Cynamite has also done a Killzone 2 vs. Gears of War 2 screenshot comparison. I’m not into the comparison drama but for those of you interested, check it out here.

As we discussed in this week’s Helcast, we’re trying to get an idea of how you, the readers feel about the ISA and Helghast wars. War is coming and you need to choose your side. So get your votes in and hit the comment box to tell us WHY it is that you side with either of these factions.
We have something cool to give away to the reader with the best response, so choose your propaganda words carefully.
We noticed that some of you have already posted your reasons in the Helcast comment box, if you choose to stick with those responses, feel free to copy and paste. Get voting!

Keeping up the with the propaganda, Killzone.com has been updated with another Helghast propaganda piece written by Iain Howe. If fans were looking to delve into the reasons as to why the Helghast are so hostile this piece told from the Helghast side give their account of ISA and UCN oppression against their peoples.
Also updated, Guerrilla Games programmer, Frank Campagner gives us another entertaining and informative view into the world of a programmer and squashing those pesky bugs. Frank breaks things down well enough for us non-programmers in simple terms such as, OMG & GTFO. You have to read it to believe it!

What’s that sound? It’s the sound of propaganda! This week on the Helcast, we’re joined by forum regular; abukii as we discuss all the wartime stories going back and forth between the ISA and the Helghast in the Killzone series.
Who to trust? We’ll tell you, in this episode of the KillzoneUnit Helcast.
I know that most of you here are aware of all of the betas we have had in the past few months on the PlayStation 3 alone. Everything from Socom: Confrontation, to (you guessed it) Killzone 2. And as we may not get into every beta, we still do everything we can do get into them. But the truth is, if we could just be patient, we could buy the final product, with all (or hopefully most) of the bugs that we would have had to deal with in the beta, fixed. But good ol’ human nature keeps us from doing that. Can we keep it inside? For the most part, no. But there are ways to keep it under your belt, the basics of which I will cover in this list of “survival skills”.

#1. Read a Book!
Probably the most effective of all survival skills for … pretty much anything having to do with gaming. I find that reading a decent book (preferably a graphic novel since some books take a while for the good stuff to kick in) helps with the wooz-i-ness from just playing a game. But in the past few weeks nothing has gotten my mind off of a beta, than a good read.
#2. Play Your All-Time Favorite Game
No matter how good you may think this coveted beta will be, you can never have too many plans to fall back on. If you were to think of your personal top 10 games of all-time, you could probably name one, then stumble across the other nine. Regardless of what they may be, you have played those, so they have been proven to work. Play what you were brought into gaming with, if that’s available. For some of you, that may mean breaking out the Commodore 64 (kudoes to you if it still works!) and playing a little Spy Trek. If you are relatively new to the gaming age, odds are your PS2 still works and you can boot up that game of Sly Cooper. It differs from person to person, but ultimately, you have to play the game that you most enjoyed in your life. Kind of how people wear the haircut they had when they were most happy for the rest of their life.
